Testers Approved for WinXP Media Center Edition Beta Program

Microsoft today alerted sucessful testers that they have been accepted to take part in the next generation WinXP Media Center Edition Beta Program. Nominations were held a couple of months ago but it wasn't clear what testers were signing up for.

In an email to testers, the Windows XP Media Center Edition Beta Team make it clear this beta is the Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2004 Update Beta program. Whether or not testers will receive Media Center Extender devices or portable media players remains to be seen. Testers have been asked to fill out a hardware loan agreement which Microsoft requires by the 24th March.

We expect the beta to begin within the month. Stay tuned.
