The Division 2 is now available for pre-order on Xbox One, launches March 15, 2019 [Update]

Microsoft has just announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is now available for pre-order on Xbox One – a full seven months before it’s released. By pre-ordering the game now, you won’t have to wait until release to play, instead you’ll gain access to the private beta and the Capitol Defender Pack, the latter of which gives you access to two exclusive in-game items: The Lullaby, an exotic SPAS-12 shotgun, and the Hazmat 2.0 outfit.

Three versions of The Division 2 are currently available via the Microsoft Store. These include the Standard Edition which includes the base game, the Gold Edition which includes the base game, three days of early access starting March 12, 2019, and The Year One Pass (giving you seven days of early access to all Year One Episodes), exclusive customisation items, additional activities and more. The last item is the Digital Ultimate Edition which includes everything in the Gold Edition, plus three additional digital packs (Elite Agent Pack, Battleworn Secret Service Pack, and First Responder Pack).

If you’re not sure what the game is about, Microsoft says:

“Set in Washington D.C., the game takes place seven months after the events of the first game. While the virus has been contained, its effects are most evident in the devastated streets of the nation’s capital where survivors cling to hope and struggle to rebuild. Enter The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper Agents who now must gear-up and work to stop enemy factions from completely taking over the city – and ultimately, the nation.

With civilians helpless and fearing for their lives, players will be the last line of defense in preventing the total collapse of society. Those of you who pre-order the game will be granted access to the Private Beta, placing you among the first Agents to explore the catastrophe-stricken Washington, D.C.”

The Standard Edition will set you back $59.99, the Gold Edition $99.99, and the Digital Ultimate Edition comes in at a hefty $119.99.

Update: Ubisoft has put out a statement too explaining that The Division 2 can also be pre-ordered on PC and PS4. Those who buy now will get the same perks as those on the Xbox One edition. Those purchasing the game from the Ubisoft Store can also access two additional editions of the game: The Dark Zone Definitive Collector's Edition, and The Phoenix Shield Collector's Edition. You can read more about those bundles here.
