Samsung's Galaxy Note9 flagship smartphone is now available to buy from the company's website, as well as in select retailers around the world. To coincide with the official availability, Samsung also released the commercial above, focusing on the power you (don't) need from the phone.
The commercial highlights the biggest improvements made to this year's iteration of the Note series, including the 4,000 mAh battery, the increased storage capacity, and the new Bluetooth-enabled S Pen. The company had previously released a commercial comparing the phone to the equally-expensive iPhone X.
Indeed, while it doesn't break the mold in one specific way, the Note9 features a combination of very compelling specs, including up to 512GB of internal storage backed up by an SD card slot, which can essentially double the available storage. Here's a run-down of the specs of the Note9:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
- 4,000 mAh battery
- 6GB or 8GB of RAM
- 128GB or 512GB of internal storage, plus microSD card support
- 6.4-inch Super AMOLED 1440p display
- Dual 12MP rear-facing cameras, one with variable aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4
- 8MP front-facing camera, f/1.7 aperture
- Bluetooth-enabled S Pen, with remote control functionality
Of course, with such an impressive spec sheet, the Galaxy Note9 is also from cheap - the variant with 512GB of storage and 8GB of RAM goes up to $1,250. You can buy either model from Samsung's website or through your preferred retailer starting today.
Also available today is the Samsung Galaxy Watch, the latest Tizen-powered smartwatch from the South Korean company. The Galaxy Watch runs on Samsung's own Exynos 9110 chipset and comes in two sizes, 46mm and 42mm. The bigger size only comes in a silver color, while the smaller one can be either "Midnight Black" or "Rose Gold" options.
There's a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi variant as well as an LTE-enabled version, both of which are available today. Both models offer 4GB of internal storage, but the LTE version has 1.5GB of RAM, while the non-cellular variant only has 768MB.
The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi model starts at $329.99 for the 42mm size and $349.99 for the 46mm version, and you can get it from Samsung's own website. If you need cellular connectivity, the LTE model is available from T-Mobile starting at $375 for the smaller one and $400 for the bigger version.
