The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt getting a Nintendo Switch release this year

Following multiple rumors, Nintendo confirmed during its E3 Direct presentation that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Switch, finally giving the hybrid console a taste of Geralt's adventures. A firm release date was sadly not shared today but it will be releasing sometime this year. Check out the announcement trailer above.

The footage trailer is entirely from the Switch, so prospective buyers can see how will the game look on the hybrid console. Obviously, the graphics don't look as good as the PC or Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, but being able to play The Witcher 3 while on the go is a first for the title. Also, this is the first time that a game from the CD Projekt Red RPG series is releasing on a Nintendo platform.

This will be the critically acclaimed game's complete edition, so the Switch release will arrive with the base game, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions, along with 16 other free DLC packs.
