The Wolf Among Us Season 2 gets delayed to 2019

Telltale Games develops narrative-rich games which primarily focus on character development and difficult decisions. Over the past few years, the company has released several games such as Batman, Game of Thrones, Minecraft: Story Mode, The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Tales from the Borderlands.

Just a few hours ago, Telltale Games has announced that it has delayed the second season of fan-favorite The Wolf Among Us to 2019.

The company notes that the delay comes because of a "few fundamental changes" at Telltale Games. While it has not explicitly stated as such, this likely refers to the 90 employees - or around 25% of Telltale's workforce - being laid off in November 2017. As a result, The Wolf Among Us' second season will now be arriving in 2019 instead of late 2018, as initially announced.

Telltale Games went on to say that:

Most importantly, we're committed to exploring new ways to tell our stories. Taking this extra time will allow us not only to focus on quality but also to experiment and iterate in order to craft something truly special.

Ultimately our goal is to deliver an experience deserving of the passion you’ve consistently shown for The Wolf Among Us, and these extra months will give us the time we need to do our best work. We’re extremely enthusiastic about how the game is progressing so far, and we can’t wait to dig even deeper.

While an exact timeframe for 2019 hasn't been announced, the delay will hopefully allow the developer to add more polish and improvements to the game. The Wolf Among Us' first season was a hit among fans and received scores in the 80s in most episodes on Metacritic too.
