Three switches on its 5G network in London before wider roll out

Three has announced the launch of its 5G network in London, as promised last month. With today’s launch, the firm is making 5G Broadband available to customers in London. The service requires no landline, fibre, or engineers to perform an installation.

With Three’s 5G Broadband solution, you’ll receive a plug-and-play hub which takes a 5G SIM card. The hub doesn’t need a landline or fibre connection thanks to the SIM card and should just start working, ready for you to connect when it’s switched on. The 5G Broadband plan is available for £35 per month and comes with “truly unlimited data”. The contract lasts for 12 months and customers can get the hub delivered the next day for free, or on the same day for £20.

Commenting on the news, Dave Dyson, CEO at Three, said:

“Three’s 5G is going to revolutionise the home broadband experience. No more paying for landline rental, no more waiting for engineers, and even a same day delivery option. It really is the straightforward plug and play broadband that customers have been waiting for.

“We’ve taken a simple approach with one single truly unlimited data plan to give customers the opportunity to fully explore 5G and all its exciting possibilities. The ease and immediacy of it all means home broadband using 5G is going to be key to the future of the connected home.”

The 5G Broadband launch marks the first step in Three’s 5G UK launch. By the end of the year, 5G connectivity will be available in 25 towns and cities across the UK. As time progresses, the firm will start expanding 5G across the rest of the country.
