Tim Cook provides an update on the Mac Mini

It has certainly been a while since Apple released an update to its Mac Mini line. The last model made its debut in October of 2014 and from the looks of it, the firm has the computer on the back burner. As the company prepares for the retail release of the iMac Pro, it looks like Apple's Tim Cook has given a curious customer a hopeful update.

According to MacRumors, a reader of the website emailed Cook to find out what was going on with the Mac Mini. Cook responded that although it's not time to share details about the device just yet, that the computer line would be an important part of the product lineup in the future.

Naturally, for now, we will have to just wait and see what happens. But, the reintroduction of a new Mac Mini could be an excellent way to round out the current lineup. With that said, if this new product does arrive, it will certainly be interesting to see at what price point it makes its debut.
