With under a month to go before the filing deadline for the 2016 tax year in the US, the TurboTax Online Tax Return app for Windows 10 PCs and tablets has been released.
With digital preparation and lodgement of tax returns being an attractive option for many taxpayers, TurboTax includes a range of useful features to help make the process quicker and easier:
- Start Smart: The availability of an autofill function removes the need for users to manually enter data via the secure import of tax information, such as W-2s and 1099s
- Live Expert Help, On-Demand: Users that find themselves stumped by a tough tax question can obtain scheduled or on-demand help from CPAs or Enrolled Agents. Screen sharing can also be activated in order to allow authorized experts to view a tax return prior to lodgement who can then provide guidance by circling or highlighting important information and next steps
- Self-Employed Support: For those who are self-employed, TurboTax's Expense Finder can help identify industry-specific deductions that may have otherwise been overlooked
The TurboTax app for Windows 10 can be downloaded for free from the Windows Store, however, charges may apply upon filing your tax return depending on its complexity and your financial situation.
