Twitter's premium subscription service will reportedly cost $2.99 per month

We have known for quite some time that Twitter is working on a subscription service that will offer certain premium features for a price. This does not include capabilities like Twitter Chirp, Tip Jar, and support for viewing tall images on mobile devices, which the company is already testing and rolling out to the public in a staggered manner.

A new report claims that the platform's upcoming subscription service will be called "Twitter Blue" and will be priced at $2.99/month.

Reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, who has developed quite a reputation for herself when it comes to revealing upcoming features that Twitter is working on, claims that the platform's subscription model costs $2.99/month and includes two premium features as of now, the first being Undo Tweets and the second being Collections.

For those unaware, Undo Tweets gives you a couple of seconds to undo your tweet before it is sent out to the public. This behavior is similar to how Gmail delays sending an email for a few seconds after you hit "send". Meanwhile, Collections allow you to bookmark and categorize tweets into folder-based structures.

Wong has also hinted at a tiered subscription model which means that users who pay more will get more capabilities. An example of this could be paying extra to remove ads from the platform altogether. To that end, Twitter also acquired Scroll which is a subscription service that removes ads from news websites - Neowin included - while financially supporting them.

That said, it is important to note that none of this information has been confirmed or formally announced by Twitter. While there is overwhelming evidence to support these claims, plans change all the time especially in a landscape as fluid as technology so it is important to keep your expectations - or reservations - in check for now.
