Two former employees have filed a class action lawsuit against Sony [Update]

Amid hackers leaking personal information including social security numbers, credit card details, bank account information, healthcare information and compensation, and other employment-related information of current and former employees, two former employees have filed a class action.

Filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the class action alleges that Sony failed to secure its computer network and failed to stop the hackers. The hackers, calling themselves Guardians of Peace, broke into Sony's systems and stole documents and data.

During the summer of 2014, an audit found that Sony's systems was vulnerable, however, it did little to address the issues which allows hackers easier access to its systems.

The group has been leaking movies, scripts, emails and other information over the past few weeks, while demanding that Sony withdraws the movie, The Interview, from distribution. The movie is controversial because it features a plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

Update: A second class action lawsuit has been filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by two former movie production workers, according to the Associated Press.
