Following the resignation of Liane Hornsey from Uber in July as its chief people officer, the ride-sharing company today announced the appointment of Nikki Krishnamurthy as its new chief people officer. She will be responsible for Uber's teams each tasked with handling human resources (HR), recruitment, workplace, and diversity and inclusion.
Regarding her appointment to that role, Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said:

She is a trusted partner who will help our management team as we evolve our culture, ensuring Uber continues to be a place where employees are supported and welcomed, and where they can grow and thrive.
Krishnamurthy previously served as the chief people officer at Expedia, an American global travel technology company, prior to joining Uber. At Expedia, she held HR positions for more than six years and also served as vice president of Expedia Local Expert. In that role, she assisted customers in booking events, activities, tours, and attractions across the world.
Prior to working at Expedia, Nikki served in various human resources roles at WaMu and PNC Financial Services Group. It should be mentioned that Khosrowshahi also came from Expedia before he joined Uber in August last year. It remains to be seen how Krishnamurthy will address various internal issues facing the company since early last year.
