Ubisoft opened the doors to its Lunar New Year sale today on its store and it is bringing back an offer that also appeared last year. PC players can now grab a copy of Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China for free, the first entry in the Chronicles spin-off series that eventually spawned three games.

Released in 2015, the 2.5D title keeps the main series' stealth and parkour gameplay as well as the flashy close-combat elements. The story takes players to 1526 China to take the role of Shao Jun - an assassin trained by Ezio Auditore from the classic games - who is going after the Eight Tigers Templar group. Aside from a variety of weaponry, Jun also employs a unique hidden shoe blade.

Here are the minimum requirements listed for the game:

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 (32/64bit versions)
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon II X2 240 @ 2.8 GHz
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTS450 or AMD Radeon HD5770 (1024MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0)
  • DISK SPACE:4 GB available space

The Assassin's Creed Chronicles China giveaway will run from now through February 16 and it can be claimed by heading here or via the Ubisoft Connect (Uplay) client on PC. Ubisoft services seem to be having some issues dealing with the load at the time of publishing this article, so give it a few hours to settle if login errors appear at first.

Meanwhile, the Lunar New Year sale is slated to be available until February 22 featuring discounts for Ubisoft's latest releases like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and much more. Ubisoft is also currently offering an additional 15% off the cart for applying the LUNAR15 coupon code.
