Tom Clancy's The Division is being offered for free on Uplay right now thanks to a brand new Ubisoft promotion. This one will last an entire week, and since it's straight from the publisher, there's no chance of keys running out early, giving PC players plenty of time to grab a copy.
The Massive Entertainment-developed title released in 2016, offering a cooperative shooter experience that puts players into the shoes of sleeper agents from the Division, who have become activated following the spread of an engineered virus. The title focuses on New York City, which has been decimated by the virus. The sequel that launched in 2019 takes players to Washington, D.C.
While most of the game is oriented towards co-op gameplay, a section of the open world, the Dark Zone, offers players PVP opportunities with better loot available as rewards. Here's how Ubisoft describes the title:
During Black Friday, a devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only a few days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, these Agents are trained to operate independently in order to save society.
The Division can be claimed for free by heading to this link, and all that's required is a free Ubisoft account. Following that, the Uplay client can be used to download and play the title. Note that this is the base game that's being given away, with currently Ubisoft offering a 67% discount on the season pass.
The Division is also a part of this month's Games with Gold on the Xbox One, offering console owners a way to grab the title as a bonus.
