Ubisoft's Brawlhalla is heading to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One

Brawlhalla, a free-to-play multiplayer fighting game which pits up to eight players against each other on the battlefield, is coming to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on November 6. The announcement was made on the official Twitter page for the game, but not much information has been provided.

Brawlhalla is a fighting game inspired by Nintendo's own popular Super Smash Bros. franchise, where players fight each other to knock the opponents out of the game screen. Ubisoft bought the game's developer, Blue Mammoth Games, earlier this year.

Up to eight players can participate in either free-for-all matches or team battles using a wide range of characters. The game is free-to-play, but players can pay to unlock specific characters or outfits. It's been available in beta form on PC for a few years, but it officially launched in 2017 alongside a PlayStation 4 version.

Now that the game is heading to competitors' platforms, some questions are still up in the air, such as the ability for PlayStation 4 owners to play against users of the other two consoles. That seems unlikely to happen based on recent history, but maybe Sony will change its mind by the time the game releases on November 6. For now, you can get it on the PlayStation 4 or for PCs through Steam.
