Valve now offers a free version of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Counter-Strike has been around for close to two decades and has still managed to maintain its popularity. In 2012, Valve introduced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, an updated version of the game, offering better graphics, refined gameplay, and more. Although Counter-Strike: Global Offensive can be fun, it can also be very intimidating and competitive. Valve has now made it easier for new players to join in the fun, releasing a free version of the game.

The free version is intended to allow new players to get acclimated to the controls and how the game plays, without having to fork over any money. It will only support offline play but you will be able to refine your skills, as you will be able to engage in combat against bots. If you've grown tired of playing and you just want to watch some matches, you can do so through the free version as it will offer access to GOTV.

Once you feel comfortable and you think you are ready to dive into the world of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you can purchase the game for $14.99. This will give you access to online play and many other features that weren't available in the free version.
