Valve unveils massive four-day Team Fortress 2 update, Jungle Inferno

It has been quite some time since a major update has landed on Valve's free-to-play shooter, Team Fortress 2, that just passed its 10 year anniversary. But after months of leaks and teasers, the company has finally announced the Jungle Inferno update, with its contents set to be revealed over a four day period.

In celebration of the update, Valve has also put out a brand new animated short, seen above, featuring crazy antics of Saxton Hale, a yeti, a Pyro with a jetpack, and more.

Day 1 of the update showcases Mercenary Park, a brand new map created by Valve, which is described as follows:

After a decade of dustbowls and gravel pits, it’s time to pack your snorkel, find your flip-flops, and endure a series of painful yellow fever vaccinations to your abdomen, because Team Fortress is heading to the tropics! Introducing Mercenary Park, a new jungle-themed disease-ridden three-control point map, made in-house by us!

Moreover, the update carries five additional community-created maps, Lazarus, Mossrock, Banana Bay, Enclosure, and Brazil, each arriving with different game modes. Next, we have what Valve calls a "tropical tidal wave of taunts", that includes two all-class taunts involving a Yeti (and a Yeti cut-out), as well as five class specific taunts created by the community.

Keep in mind that three more days of reveals are still yet to come, which will hopefully give us that sweet Pyro jetpack seen in the promotional material. The update itself will arrive for Team Fortress 2 once all the new contents have been revealed over the next few days.
