No one has seemingly been able to confirm anything, but rumors abound that ION Storm Austin has had a major upheaval and many people have been laid off. THe rumors also say that Warren Spector himself has left the company. Here's what is rumored to be happening at this time:
- Layoffs at Ion Storm (20-25 people)
- Massive changes of focus to console development.
- Many of the best people people were let go because they were either suspected of leaving shortly or wouldn't fit into the new structure.
- Warren has left.
- Probably will change the company name.
Again, nothing is confirmed as of this moment, but it does seem likely something major has happened with ION Storm Austin. If it's true, another great development studio has been lost.
