Watch: Microsoft's Cortana keynote at SMX Advanced

A few weeks ago, Marcus Ash, a program manager for Cortana at Microsoft, took to the stage at SMX Advanced and talked about Cortana and the direction in which the company is headed with its personal digital assistant. Some of his comments caused quite a bit of controversy as he stated that Cortana could end up on Android or iOS.

Those comments were quickly clarified saying that Cortana could go anywhere, but at this time, there are no plans to port the digital assistant to other mobile platforms. But that's not all Ash and company talked about and you can watch the entire interview at the top of this post.

Microsoft is pushing ahead with Cortana aggressively as the company is now releasing updates twice a month and even released a version of Skype for Windows Phone that supports integration.

It's not a big surprise to see Microsoft push forward with Cortana as it was the missing piece to their ecosystem. They now support all types of input from traditional mouse and keyboard to touch and of course, voice input with Cortana. And with Cortana expected to eventually make its way to other platforms like Windows and Xbox, the digital assistant has become another focal point for the company.
