Watch people experience their first virtual reality porn session

The porn industry has always looked to innovate, and as a result, has often pioneered experimentation with new technology. In a world where the former taboo has become more socially acceptable, the market is continuing to grow, and looks to stay this way for the foreseeable future. Over recent years, virtual reality has seen a revival, with many large companies scheduling to release headsets in 2016.

Adult entertainment firm BaDoink, has taken to the streets of San Francisco to share a collection of virtual reality experiences, developed in-house for the Samsung Gear VR. The company currently offers a small selection of both 180- and 360-degree VR experiences, but as with many new technologies, the market is still extremely limited.

The video below showcases their reactions, and their opinions on the concept. While the idea may appear rather abstract, a majority of those given the device were eager to begin the session, and seemed to be thrilled with what it offered.

Earlier in the year, the company began to distribute cardboard virtual reality headsets for free, with the intended use of porn consumption on high-end mobile devices. The coming year looks to be promising for the industry, and will likely see some growth from the upcoming launch of dedicated VR headsets. Experts have (unsurprisingly) predicted that porn will significantly influence the virtual reality industry over the coming years, and will be a popular application for the hardware.

While the video does discuss adult topics and vague narration of the experience, no pornographic material is shown:
