Weekend PC Game Deals: Specials landing straight from Mars and past wars

Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals are amassed into an easy to follow format, every week, from all over the internet. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets.

The Red Planet is the destination this week on the Epic Games Store, with Paradox Interactive and Haemimont Games' Surviving Mars coming in as the free game.

The city-building and management game has you colonizing mars and sustaining a city there. Drones do all the heavy lifting but when humans start arriving, you'd better have all the essentials like oxygen, water, and domes set up and ready.

While you're grabbing the base game, don't forget to claim the Space Race and Mysteries Resupply Pack DLC for free via the store page as well. Surviving Mars is set to stay in the free slot until October 17, which is when it will be replaced by Alan Wake's American Nightmare and '>observer_'.

Free Events

A couple of very different World War II shooters are having free weekends currently.

DICE has kicked off a free weekend trial promotion for Battlefield V on Origin. You can now try out the Rush multiplayer game mode as well as all of the War Stories campaign missions for free. The promotion will be returning every weekend during October, giving you the chance to try more game modes. This is a 75GB download.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for a more tactical and authentic WWII experience, the 50 vs 50 shooter Hell Let Loose is having a free-to-play promotion during this weekend on Steam. The game recently received Omaha Beach as a new map, among other content. This is an 8GB download.

Big Deals

With the beginning of the weekend arrives a wide assortment of sales, and as usual, we have a selection of handpicked games for your perusing that are having specials right now. Note that the EA launch sale going on at Humble right now is region restricted in many areas outside of the U.S.

DRM-free Goodness

And now, let's have a look at all the DRM-free specials that are happening this weekend:

Keep in mind that availability and pricing for some deals may vary depending on the region you're in.

And that is it for our pick of this weekend's PC game deals folks, and hopefully, some of you have enough self-restraint to not add even more games to your growing backlogs this holiday season. Of course, there is an enormous amount of more deals ready and waiting all over the internet if you comb through it hard enough, so keep your eyes open for those, and have a great weekend.
