Weekend PC Game Deals: Star Wars Day sales awaken as Golden Week settles

The Humble Monthly Bundle that had Assassin's Creed Origins as the headliner is no more, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition has taken over the early unlock spot for the new Monthly Bundle.

Before everything, you should know that this is a cut down version of the full game, with the zombie mode not being included. You have access to the regular multiplayer modes and the Blackout battle royale mode, all through Blizzard's Battle.net launcher.

The $12 bundle will reveal its full contents on June 7, promising to include over $100 worth of games, so you have until then to make a decision. Subscribing also has perks like a 10% discount on Humble Store and access to Humble Trove titles.

Epic Games Store is back with another one of its giveaways, and this time it's for the classic puzzle game World of Goo. However, this isn't the same old gooey goodness you might remember from over 10 years ago, as the original developer, 2D Boy, has come back to give it a fresh coat of paint.

Calling it a "gentle remastering," the game will now work on modern PCs without hitches. It also now supports screens with 16:9 aspect ratio and features higher resolution graphics, with an option to play using the original low-resolution artwork.

As you might have guessed, this giveaway requires an Epic Games Store account to claim, after which you can begin building your goo structures straight away. The promotion will come to an end on May 16, which is when Stories Untold will take over the giveaway spot.

LEGO games come in all sorts of flavors, and Humble has collected eight of them together to make a Humble LEGO Games Bundle. Although these aren't some of the latest releases, they are still a good place to start.

Starting off, putting down just $1 gets you LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Batman. Bumping up to the second tier - currently around $8.40 - adds on three more games, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and The LEGO Movie.

The final tier costs $12, which gets you LEGO City Undercover, LEGO Worlds, and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, as well as all of the games in previous tiers.

Free Events

Ubisoft's open world tactical shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands is currently having a free weekend, opening up the entire game to anyone who wants to try it out. The game received a couple of new story missions recently that seems to be teasing a new Tom Clancy game. Also, these missions feature a character played by Jon Bernthal - star of Netflix's The Punisher -, all playable during the free weekend.

If you haven't gotten around to trying out Street Fighter V yet, there's still some time left on the ongoing free event from last week to jump in and play some rounds. You get access to the 16 original characters as well as four DLC fighters.

Celebrating the release of the Star Citizen Alpha 3.5.0 update, Cloud Imperium Games has opened up the budding space game to everyone with a new Free Fly event. During this, you get five free ships to have your adventures in while exploring the two planets, ten moons, and other traversable locations.

Big Deals

It’s a great weekend for Star Wars fans, as May 4 has awakened a wealth of discounts for games set in the popular universe, from classics to modern releases. Do note that, however, Origin Access subscription recently bolstered its Star Wars games selection, so instead of buying individually, that's also a route you can take if you're a fan.

Meanwhile, Steam is also celebrating Japan's Golden Week, and many Japanese game publishers currently have some deep discounts running on hundreds of their titles.
