Windows 10 Mobile Camera app updated with slow-motion video capture capability

Microsoft has issued an update to the Windows 10 Mobile Camera app that will add slow-motion video capture on select handsets.

While this is indeed exciting news, the unfortunate part is that the feature will initially only be available on a trio of handsets, namely the Lumia 930, Icon and 1520. It is unknown at this time whether the update will reach other Lumia handsets, but there is a good chance that the upcoming Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will support it.

If interested in experimenting with the new shooting option, be sure that you are running a preview build of Windows 10 Mobile and head to the camera app. Once you switch your shooting preference to video, you will be presented with a turtle icon, that will enable slow-motion capture of video shooting at 120fps at 720p.

As mentioned previously, the app update is only available for those running the preview build of Windows 10 Mobile. If you'd like to try the new camera app, download the latest preview build and update the camera app.
