Windows Blue build 9347 screenshot surfaces but doesn't show much

Microsoft's plan to update Windows 8 later this year with "Windows Blue" has been documented in Microsoft job listings but so far the company has officially kept quiet about its Windows upgrade path. Now a new screenshot showing an updated build number for Windows Blue has been uploaded to Neowin's own message board forums.

The forum post, from a person who goes by the handle "rav.a" on Neowin, shows that the build number for Windows Blue is now up to 9347, compared to the last known build number of 9317. Other than that, there's not much else that can be ascertained from this alleged screenshot (assuming it is legitimate), other than this early build of the OS will expire on January 15, 2014.

As we have reported before, Windows Blue is rumored to have a faster kernel and better search features than Windows 8, along with a new Internet Explorer 11 web browser. Microsoft is rumored to launch Windows Blue sometime later this summer and it may be preceded by a public beta.
