Windows Blue gets Google's April Fools' Day attention with Gmail Blue

Microsoft has admitted that it has an overall plan, code-named "Blue", that is being used internally to describe their ideas for advancing its devices and services. Microsoft admitted to the Blue code name a few days after a leaked build of Windows Blue made its way to the Internet, revealing quite a few new features for the next major update to Windows 8.

For April Fools' Day today, Google decided to have a little fun with Microsoft with the "launch" of Gmail Blue. Actually, the launch is just a funny YouTube video, but the truth is we would like to see a real Gmail Blue serice come out just for kicks.

The video basically states that Gmail Blue is Gmail but in a blue color. The Google Gmail employees in the video state that everything is blue, from the "Compose" button to the Bold selection to, well, everything else. The video claims that they experimented with other color (apparently brown was a bit of a disaster) but they decided to settle on blue.

The video even has a quick appearance by a certain entertainment group with the word "Blue" in their name. They seem to be as perplexed as everyone else would be if Gmail Blue was real and not an April Fools' joke.
