Windows Phone Nokia Reading app adds SkyDrive support

In May, Nokia released its own Nokia Reading app exclusively for its line up of Lumia Windows Phones. The app allowed Lumia owners to find, buy and read from a library of eBooks. Now there's word that there's an updated version of the app available to download that adds a couple of new features.

The app, which is not yet available to download in the US but can be accessed by other countries from the Windows Phone Store, now adds the ability to import DRM-free eBooks into the app from Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud-based service. The EPUB and PDF document file types are supported in this new feature.

This update also adds the previously promised feature of a "News Stream". This is an RSS-based news reader that allows the Nokia Reading app to display news from a variety of sources.

Nokia has plans to launch a number of exclusive Windows Phone 8 apps for the upcoming Lumia 920 and 820 devices. One of them will be the Cinemagraph app that will allow users to edit photos in new ways, including ways to remove unwanted objects and creating special animated sequences.
