Xbox 360 to Finally Receive 100GB HDD, Xbox.com Maintenance

After long complaints about the petty size of the Xbox 360 (20GB) hard drive, Microsoft will finally offer a 100GB version on the shelves. Right now there is no price set, but we're looking at something expensive. Considering after a few demo downloads and videos from Xbox Live Marketplace, your 360 would soon be full, this is a welcome addition for 360 gamers.

It was initially announced at the Korean X06, and to be launched in March 2007. Let's hope we hear more details on the price and availability elsewhere in the world.

You can see a screenshot of the PowerPoint presentation that shows off the new 100GB hard drive here. Although the only striking thing is the image of the hard drive and the word "100GB", since everything else is in Korean.

On a related Xbox note, the Xbox.com website is still undergoing problems after its maintenance. The My profile page currently does not work, and Major Nelson posted a quick update on his website regarding this: "Meanwhile, back in Redmond the engineers are tying up some loose ends regarding the yesterday's maintenance." The maintenance was to bring exciting new features to the community, but right now we've only seen extended family controls.
