Xbox Design Lab finally arrives in Europe, adds new colors, metallic finishes and more

Xbox fans in Europe finally have the chance to get their hands on custom Xbox One controllers, as Microsoft announced today that Xbox Design Lab is expanding to the UK, France, and Germany.

Originally announced at E3 2016 and only available in North America until now, Xbox Design Lab lets users create their own customized Xbox One controller, with the option to pick and choose colors and even engrave text on it. The company said last year that the service would not reach Europe until 2017, so its arrival is right on time.

In addition to the increased availability, Microsoft has also added four new base colors to the already available selection. These include Desert Tan, Sierra Brown, Mineral Blue, and Ink Blue. 11 new thumbstick colors are also included, as well as Premium Metallic finishes for the D-pad and triggers, along with the choice of adding rubberized grips.

Although only the UK, France and Germany are included in Xbox Design Lab's foray into Europe for now, the service will arrive for more European countries later this summer. As for the cost, the custom controller prices begin at £69.99 in the UK, while a regular Xbox One controller retails at £49.99.

Moreover, Microsoft is offering free laser engravings for every Xbox Design Lab controller until June 19, so be sure to make use of the promotion if you're considering ordering a custom controller.
