Xbox Design Lab gets new shadow and camo options

During its Inside Xbox event at gamescom 2018 today, Microsoft announced some new features to its Xbox Design Lab, which allows gamers to create their own custom controllers. The new effects that you can use are called shadow and camo.

What you see in the above image is shadow. There are six different gradients available, and that one is called Deep Pink Shadow, as Microsoft didn't call it Black to the Fuchsia, for some reason. There's also Mineral Blue Shadow, Oxide Red Shadow, Bronze Shadow, Photon Blue Shadow, and something called 'Event Exclusive'.

There are five options for camo, including Robot White Forces, Military Green Forces, Midnight Blue Forces, Abyss Black Forces, and Desert Tan Forces. Both the shadow and camo options add $10 to the price of the custom Xbox Wireless Controllers, and sadly, they only apply to the body. That means that there are no new effects for the back, bumpers, triggers, buttons, and so on.

Unfortunately, all of this still only applies to the standard Xbox Wireless Controller, and you can't get a custom Elite Controller. If you want to check it out, you can find the Xbox Design Lab here.
