Xbox Insiders in the Preview Alpha Skip Ahead ring get a new 19H2 build

Later today, Xbox Insiders in the Preview Alpha Skip Ahead ring will get a new update in preparation for version 1910, which is also known as 19H2 and should be publicly available later this year. This specific update, which is build 18362.7113, includes some improvements to the download queue.

Specifically, the queue will now show you the estimated time remaining to finish a download, and you can also move items up and down in the queue at will, instead of just bringing them to the front. The build also includes a few fixes:

Audio

  • Fixes addressing the stability of audio when the console comes out of Instant on mode.

Settings

  • Users are now able to open Settings – Video fidelity & Overscan in display settings

System

  • Fixes to narrator bugs in Settings.
  • Various UI alignment fixes to the Home and settings.
  • Localization fixes.

Despite the fixes, there are two known issues in this release:

Audio

  • Headsets are not being assigned to the users profiles and not working correctly.

Profile Color

  • Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

While this build is preparing the release of version 1910 of the OS, Microsoft says these improvements will also be in version 1906, which should come sometime next month. Version 1910 is still some time away, so it makes sense that completely new features aren't being added yet.

What's interesting is that Xbox Insiders are currently the only ones testing 19H2, as Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring have skipped over to 20H1, which is expected to arrive early next year. Also, despite being part of the 19H2 development cycle, the major build number is still 18362, and only the minor build number is increasing from 19H1.
