Xbox Live on the original Xbox isn't dead...yet

When Microsoft announced the end of Xbox Live for the original Xbox, many knew that this would be the end of the legendary Halo 2 online offering.  Arguably one of the best online FPS in recent history, many poured hundreds of hours into the game.

But, to kill the service, Microsoft needed everyone to log off themselves as they were not forcing users out, but were no longer letting users sign back in.  Because of this, 13 dedicated Halo 2 players have kept their consoles on and are still playing Halo 2.

According to Bungie.net forums, “Throughout the past week, a small group of dedicated Halo 2 players kept their Xbox's on so that they could enjoy the game for a while longer. (As long as we don't turn off our Xbox's, or lose connection, we can stay online. Our Xbox's have been on for nearly 13 days straight) Each day the amount of people decreased, at a rapid rate.

The dedicated few are still going strong and will continue to do so until ether their consoles lock up, connections drop, or Microsoft finally kicks them from the service.
