Xbox One Insider Preview build 15063.3022 is available in the Alpha ring - here's what's new

If you're on the Preview Alpha ring of the Xbox Insider Program, it's once again time to check for updates, as build 15063.3022 is available. The build string is rs2_release_xbox_1705.170413-1824, which means that it's version 1705, and it was compiled on April 13. It comes just two days after 15063.3020, or rs2_release_xbox_1705.170411-1700.

The release notes aren't all that clear on exactly what's been added to this build in terms of features, but it did list some new Arena tournaments. Instead, they refer to the announcement of the update, and still note that it might not contain all announced features.

Here are the new features from the changelog:

Welcome to 1705 on Xbox One! This month we’re rolling out a new party overlay, more fan-requested improvements, and later this month…Killer Instinct and World of Tanks tournaments powered by Arena on Xbox Live!

You can read more about the features coming in this update on the Xbox News Wire.

NOTE: Not all planned features for this update are available at this time.

The release notes also list one fix:

  • Screen Dimming
Fixed an issue which sometimes caused the screen to dim during video playback.

Finally, this build has two known issues:

  • Store

You will be unable to access the Store when the console is set to one of the following language and region configurations: English (Greece), English (Czech Republic), English (Hungary), English (Slovakia). This issue will be resolved in an upcoming update.
Workaround: Set the console to a language and region configuration which is not one of the four mentioned above.

  • Party Overlay
Small black squares may be displayed on screen after using the party overlay.
Workaround: Disable the party overlay when you are not in a party.

Version 1705 is the next feature update for the console, and as the version number indicates, it should be finalized sometime next month. Some of the planned new features were originally announced for 1704, but never made it into the final update.

Right now, preview builds of the update are only available in the Alpha ring, but those in the Beta ring will probably only have to wait a week or two before they start seeing new builds.
