Xbox One Insider Preview build 15063.3042 is available in the Alpha ring - here's what's new

If you're on the Preview Alpha ring of the Xbox Insider Program, it's once again time to check your console for updates, as build 15063.3042 is now available. The build string is rs2_release_xbox_1705.170502-1936, meaning that it was compiled on May 2.

This is a preview of version 1705, which is the next feature update for the console. It contains a number of fan-requested features, and the version number indicates that it should be finalized this month.

There are no specific new features in today's build, but it does include "miscellaneous performance fixes to address issues with games failing to launch, console crashes, and overall sluggishness."

Still, there is one known issue:

  • Games and Apps
Certain games may appear in the Apps section while they are installing.

Version 1705 is currently only available in the Alpha and Beta rings, and Preview Rings 3 and 4 are still receiving cumulative updates for 1704. If you're on one of the lower rings, you shouldn't have to wait too long before you see the new update, as it will likely be made available to everyone this month.

According to Microsoft's Brad Rossetti, this build will likely be available for Beta users tomorrow, and custom Gamerpics has been pushed back until next week.
