Xfinity X1 voice remote now lets you find lost items by ringing your Tile devices

Comcast first partnered with Tile in 2018 to help Xfinity X1 voice remote users find any lost item with a Tile device attached to it and see its location on their TV screen. Today, the companies are adding a new feature to that capability that will make it much easier to search for your misplaced wallet or phone nearby, for example.

Comcast announced today that Xfinity X1 voice remote now has the ability to ring Tile devices in order to help customers locate their lost items more quickly. Users will only need to say “Xfinity Home, where is my wallet?”, for example, to their X1 remote and a Tile device affixed to that item will ring. Of course, asking the voice remote of the location of any Tile-equipped object will still bring up its last-known whereabouts on your TV screen.

For starters, a Tile device is a Bluetooth-enabled tracker that you can attach to anything so that it's easier to keep track of your stuff in case of loss. However, things might get difficult to find if you're out of Bluetooth range. So Comcast also announced today that Tiles can now connect to xFi Gateways as well as X1 and Flex set-top boxes to help you locate your lost belongings using the Tile app. Also, you can download the Xfinity Home app from the App Store or Play Store in order to more easily add and find your Tiles.
