You will be able to buy a Windows 10 PC on July 29

Yesterday, a report claimed that Windows 10 will not be available pre-installed on any devices on July 29. The cause of this was apparently the limited time between RTM and General Availability (GA), which consequently meant that manufacturers won't have enough time to fully test the OS before pre-loading it on devices. Today, however, Bloomberg claims that consumers will be able to buy Windows 10 PCs from stores on launch day after all.

An email sent to the outlet from Microsoft states that companies such as Dell, Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard and Acer will have devices with Windows 10 pre-installed available for purchase on July 29. Dell already began its pre-orders for Windows 10 devices a month ago, assuring users that it would begin shipping the same day and buyers will be able to get their hands on the devices as early as July 30.

Previously, a statement from Yusuf Mehdi, vice president of Windows and device marketing, claimed that:

You will see computers running with Windows installed very soon after the 29th and then in the fall, a whole new class of machines for the holidays.

With the statement now being rectified from the company, it'll be interesting to see how many people actually do buy Windows 10 PCs, keeping in mind that many of the OS' users are eligible for a free upgrade. However, it is important to note that not all people who signed up for the upgrade will receive it on launch day. Five million Windows Insiders will get their hands on the OS first, with the rest of the users receiving the update in waves.
