Amazon announces Page Flip to help you skip through your Kindle books

Amazon announced Page Flip today for Kindle, Fire OS, iOS, and Android. Sorry, Windows users.

Let's face it. Despite being relatively unchanged for centuries, paper books still have their advantages. One of them is that you can easily flip to a certain page. Page Flip aims to solve that for Kindle books.

Using the feature will also save your place in the book that you're reading, pinning it to the left side of the page. This way, users can flip through a book without losing their place.

Chuck Moore, Vice President of Kindle, said the following:

Page Flip makes it easier than ever to refer back to pictures in a political memoir, flip back and forth between a map and your current page in an epic fantasy series, or find passages you’ve highlighted in an investing guide. With Page Flip, we’ve taken inspiration from how people read print books and improved upon it.

Amazon's strategy has always been to do what it can to not just make the digital reading experience as good as the physical reading experience, but it aims to make it better. An example of that is WhisperSync, which keeps your place in your book no matter what device you're using, or if you're switching between the Kindle book and the Audible audiobook.

Amazon also continues to release new Kindle hardware. Back in April, the firm released the $289 Kindle Oasis, and more recently released a new base model Kindle.

The company says that Kindle, Fire OS, iOS, and Android users will receive an OTA update today; however, we haven't received any updates just yet.
