@Der_Ausgewanderte - I can't blame you 1 bit, I am staying with 2011. I have it working well on both my Win8 and Win7 machines.

I think you can get 2012 to work in Win8 - when you install, try the Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Once you get it installed in 8, go to Program Files-Acronis-TrueImageHome and rename TrueImage.exe to ATI.exe. Pin the renamed file to START and it should work. I did this to get ATI 10 to work in Windows 7 and again to get ATI 11 to work in Windows 8. I had ATI 12 working in one version of 8 at one point.

thanks, I may give that a try. Although, installation of a few 2013 betas before the last two of ATI hosed my Win8 system (and was confirmed by others as well - Win8 would not boot anymore - no matter what you tried)...

I got it too, installing on Win7 machine now. I tried to install it on Win8 machine, no go. I stand by my original statement of ATI Home being an excellent product and Acronis being a not-so-customer-friendly company. ATI Home 2011 working great on 8, think I'll save my money right now.

yeah, just came here to report too that it's up now on their website. Also just found out that they want $30 for upgrade even though I just purchased it in July. Sure, I am not within their cutoff date of July 26 for a free upgrade but it sucks that I purchased it with Windows 8 in mind. will try to argue some with additional feedback to the beta program.

The KB and Forum is back. However, no mention of the final version of 2013. There is a new article in the Beta Forum listing fixed and unfixed bugs and that the release of new version is imminent.

my question at the moment is : are the links above considered a leak since there is nothing official at Acronis? - odd.

D/L 2013 Trial Version, cannot get a key for it, was sent a key for 2012. I have been using ATI for years, excellent product, but the company does a terrible job of communicating with customers, IMO. This is a perfect example.

100% agree with the lack of communication part!! Not to mention what a cluster mess and how stupidly I think their forums are setup.

Otherwise, a totally awesome product and the ONLY backup software worth a flying flip, when it decides to act right. I've almost never gotten this thing to say that the backup I just created was done right, but when actually restoring any of the backups, they have worked.

New in Acronis True Image 2013:

* Windows 8 support - True Image 2013 supports the next version of the operating system released by Microsoft, namely Windows 8. You can safely buy and install Windows 8 without worrying whether you will be able to restore your system if need arises.

* New backup naming rules - The new automatic backup naming is more flexible and convenient. By default, True Image 2013 creates for each backup task a folder with a backup task name and keeps in this folder all related backups. A backup filename always contains a task name, a backup method, a backup number, and a sequential file number (if the backup is split into several files, the suffixes will be v1, v2, etc.). Optionally you may add to the name date, time, etc. by adding the appropriate macros.

* Synchronization with mobile devices - Now you can sync your data not only between your PCs, but with your mobile devices as well. Such devices include phones and tablet PCs with the iOS and Android platforms. Simply go to App Store or Google Play, install the free Acronis app and get access to your data on Acronis Cloud anyplace and anytime.

* Easy sharing of files and folders - Users subscribed to the Acronis Cloud service now can share files and folders with one click. All you need to do is to right-click the desired file or folder and choose Create public link in the shortcut menu. The program creates a public link and places it in the Clipboard. You can share the link with any person. What is more, you can create public links to any file or folder and not only to those which are included in syncs or online backups.

Can't install it, there's no way to get a trial product key or to purchase it; as you mentioned, DerAusgewanderte, it points to a 2012 upgrade/full purchase!

your release notes point to 2012 versions.
edit: Looks like they are revamping their website and forum for the new release. I cannot access the forum site. I've been beta testing 2013 and when I check for updates on the latest beta it just tells me I have the latest version.

also, when you try to purchase a product key the link takes you to a purchase site with v 2012 of the program populated. Apparently they didn't finish this before the weekend and nothing is going to happen on the weekend in Germany - LOL. The Acronis knowledge base site is down as well.
