Amazon Day launches in the U.S., bringing more predictability

Amazon has announced the availability of Amazon Day for Prime customers in the United States. The new feature will remove the hassle of waiting in for deliveries at inconvenient times by letting you pick the day you want your parcel delivered on. The firm also touted the environmental impact saying that purchases made and delivered in groups could require less packaging and fewer delivery runs.

Maria Renz, Vice President, Delivery Experience at Amazon, said:

“Amazon Day adds another level of convenience to the many shipping benefits Prime members already enjoy. Prime members can now choose to get their orders delivered together in fewer boxes whenever possible on the day that works best for them. We’ve been testing this program with a group of Prime members and Amazon Day has already reduced packaging by tens of thousands of boxes – a number that will only continue to grow now that the program is available to Prime members nationwide.”

Amazon is hoping that the new initiative will help it achieve its Shipment Zero goal where the firm hopes to make all Amazon shipments net zero carbon, with half of all shipments net zero by 2030.

Those who take advantage of Amazon Day can also use Prime’s other delivery options for each eligible item. These delivery options include Prime FREE One-Day Shipping and Prime FREE Same-Day Delivery in thousands of towns and cities.

If you’re in the United States and use Amazon Prime, head on over to the Amazon Day website to learn more about the offering. Those who don’t use Prime can try out Amazon Day as part of the Prime 30-day free trial.
