America's Army 3 coming to Steam

In a recent interview with Kotaku, it has been confirmed that America's Army 3 will be available on Steam when the game is released. "One of the things the first two iterations of the game taught the developers is that they need to make the game as easy to find, download and install as possible." said Marsha Berry, senior executive producer of America's Army.

Berry continued to say that the game will also limit the account system to a single sign on as well as allowing players to create multiple soldiers on a single account. "One of the big things we heard was that players like customization. We have a lot of customization on how you can load down your character."

America's Army 3 is the next version of the F2P (free-to-play) America's Army series, a tool used by the American Army to help recruit new soldiers. The game will include gravity affecting weapon fire, ricochet effects, the ability to switch easily between gameplay and training, tactical sound and many other features. The title will be running on the more recent Unreal Engine 3 compared with America's Army 2 which is based on the Unreal Engine 2.5. Using this updated engine allows the developers to deliver more realistic environments, lighting effects and animations then previously seen with earlier versions of the game.

There is currently no set release date for the game.
