AT&T to get three new LTE Windows Phone devices, Verizon Lumia 710 in April

A crop of new rumors and images have surfaced recently that begin to tell Microsoft's story about how it will retake the US marketplace. Up first is Paul Thurrott saying that AT&T will get three new Windows Phone devices. Paul states, "Nokia ACE, HTC Radiant, and Samsung Mendel--will ship on AT&T Wireless before the middle of 2012. The ACE is due March 18, 2012." Also being reported is that Verizon will get the Lumia 710 in April as well, giving T-Mobile a three month exclusivity with the device; the Verizon Lumia 710 will not support LTE.

The image you see above was picked up by The Verge who independently states that the HTC Radiant and the Samsung Mendel will be available in ealry 2012 which ties nicely to what Paul has indicated with his own information.

The exact specs of the devices are still unknown but it looks like Windows Phone fans will get their 4G fix in 2012. It is expected that many, if not all of the devices mentioned, will be shown off at CES. With the trade show only a few weeks away, this may be the start of many rumors to break before the January onslaught of announcements.

Whoever gets the Lumia 800/900 here in the USA, that is who I am switching too, even if it means going to ATT.

Verizon this is YOUR last chance to get it right. I don't know why VZW is so pale on selling Windows Devices. They sold so many back in the days of Windows Mobile. The only reason they didnt sell to many devices with WM6.x was because those devices sucked. I loved the HTC TouchPro2. The only problem was a 528Mhz CPU was to frikkin slow for the OS. It constantly would freeze or lag. I got sick of it and returned it.

I want a Windows Phone so badly. I want the Titan, I want the Radar, but am trying to hold out because I get tired of switching carriers. One of my 3 Verizon numbers is about to expire on contract. You better get it together or I am gone and I won't be coming back. And as soon as the other numbers expire I will move them too.

Verizon should be ashamed to pick the Lumia 710. Even tho it is a "nice" phone, the Lumia 800 would be better. All they need to do is commit to push selling them. They will sell. I certainly want one. The 710 looks cheap compared to many Android phones. The 800 in Verizon Red would be awesome.

Looks like Verzion turn downed the Nokia 900 and other high end WP7 phones and might re-evaluate when Windows Phone 8 is released

Interesting... sigh...

A while ago I have resigned to the fact that VZW network is #1 feature of any phone I carry; I tried a switch to AT&T about 7 months ago and after 2 weeks ran back to VZW looking apologetic. Anyway, not that it matters to anyone else but - my Trophy is solid enough for me to live with it for another year.

I call BS on VZW Lumia release. I don't think VZW would be even open to this, after all that has been said about them, MS, and LTE.

AT&T on the other hand - that makes sense.

Of course, this makes me unhappy, but my Trophy will survive until Apollo handsets release, I hope!

It doesn't need to make sense to YOU, Verizon is interested in ANYTHING that makes them money and brings in more customers, period. Despite what Verizon says in the press.. even a million dollars is still money!

Three more phones for the salespeople at at$t to badmouth or ignore because they want to sell apple or android instead.

I actually had no problem when I told the guy at my AT&T store I wanted to look at a Windows Phone. He seemed open to them.

"We've communicated to Microsoft that LTE is critical to us," she said. "We need to see a timeline that makes sense if we want to continue to represent them."

So if the rumor is true, this is a bunch of BS.

Or the timeline they were shown gave them the warm-fuzzies and they decided to bring in more handsets ahead of the arrival of the 4G devices.

WTF, VZW said no WP7 phones unless they have LTE and now Paul is saying that VZW is getitng the Lumia 710 and it won't have LTE.

If VZW doesn't get the Lumia ACE/900 it's time to leave big red and head on over to at&t.

I'm glad I ditched Verizon years ago. Sure, they may beat out AT&T in some cases, but their marriage to Android is worrisome to me, plus the fact that most of their phones are toys.

Neither is perfect, but I'd rather go with AT&T based on the customer service I got from Verizon. AT&T was able to help me with a somewhat complicated issue with no problem.

Ummm, AT&T customer service is worse rated vs Verizon. I got ****ed at ATT because of a simple reason. I cancelled my contract with them. I was 6 months in and was willing to pay the fee. But they wanted to charge me for 30 days of service after I cancel. I said, the money for paying to cancel is reasonable, but why charge me a month for service I never used. They wouldn't credit it. I refused to pay any of it. I told them, remove the month and I pay right now. They refused. I'm never going to pay it. Verizon would never do that. I know, because I cancel a contract only 3 months in to move to ATT.
