Go away, AVG. In just one version you've turned into a ginormous bloated mess. Too bad that Avira followed suit leaving only Avast as the best alternative to those two now, especially now that they ditched those nod32-like interfaces from the 90s: it's unbelievably good now, uses far less resources than other antiviruses (with a similar configuration about 70mb less than MSSE) and even warns users when browsers and plugins should be updated. Unfortunately they still want that annoying yearly free subscription but oh well, you can't always have everything.

Have you tried Panda Cloud? Bitdefender free? Baidu Antivirus?

I tried Panda Cloud and BitDefender but never heard of Baidu. BitDefender has a better detection but for unknown reasons Avast seems to have an uncannily low usage of RAM compared to anything else so I just put that now also because it forces users to update third party software that is arguably more important than having an antivirus in the first place.

Don't know why is people whining all the time about MSE.I never have problems with it,it never boters me with notificatios and doesn't slow my PC.Have used AVG,Avira,Bitdefender,Kaspersky,Norton, but MSE is the best for me..
