Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition PC coming September 18th

Earlier this year, Beamdog and Overhaul Games announced plans to release Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, a graphical revamp of the first two games in the fantasy RPG series originally developed by BioWare. Today, the development teams announced that the game will be released on the PC on September 18th.

The announcement also reveals the price of the new version will be $19.99. However, people who pre-order the game for the PC will receive a $2 discount, along with a special forum badge and a way to pre-load the game, via the Beamdog service, ahead of its release.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will not just be a graphical revamp; it will also contain an all new game adventure, along with new characters and new player character voice sets.

The game will also be released for the iPad and for the Mac OS sometime in September but no specific release dates or prices for those platforms have been announced. An Android version is also in the works.

In an interview a few months ago, Beamdog's Trent Oster told us that they would like to make Baldur's Gate 3 at some point saying, "In reality, the best way to make a BG3 happen for us is to make the Enhanced Editions great games and then hope they sell well."

If this is anything like the MDK2 HD remake they made I wil avoid it like the plague, what an atrocity MDK2 HD is, the original looked far better and thats 15 years old, I loved that game but the remake is just meh!!. Just look for the comparison videos on youtube.

Requires their own extra software downloader to install and download ( think Steam, Origin )

It doesn't, though you can also install it through that service. You get direct installer download like you get with GoG dls.

Im debating getting it for PC, i will be getting it for iPad though,i know it should be the other way around, mainly for when i move away from iOS as hoping to get a Win8 if price is right.

Well heck, ill get both, and when i get my Win8 Tablet i can play it on that also

A game that just about EVERYONE has told me I need to play, but I've put it off for years. No more excuses... It Is Go Time.

A bit cliche but.. shut up and take my money!

BG3 would be a nice addition too.. *if* they keep the standards that made the first two great. Please don't dumb it down.. too much of that nonsense as it is.
