Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition PC coming September 18th

Earlier this year, Beamdog and Overhaul Games announced plans to release Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, a graphical revamp of the first two games in the fantasy RPG series originally developed by BioWare. Today, the development teams announced that the game will be released on the PC on September 18th.

The announcement also reveals the price of the new version will be $19.99. However, people who pre-order the game for the PC will receive a $2 discount, along with a special forum badge and a way to pre-load the game, via the Beamdog service, ahead of its release.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will not just be a graphical revamp; it will also contain an all new game adventure, along with new characters and new player character voice sets.

The game will also be released for the iPad and for the Mac OS sometime in September but no specific release dates or prices for those platforms have been announced. An Android version is also in the works.

In an interview a few months ago, Beamdog's Trent Oster told us that they would like to make Baldur's Gate 3 at some point saying, "In reality, the best way to make a BG3 happen for us is to make the Enhanced Editions great games and then hope they sell well."
