Battlefield 2: Modern Combat strikes gold

Electronic Arts has announced that Battlefield 2 has gone gold. Modern Combat hit gold for PS2 and Xbox. B2:MC is the first game in the popular PC shooter series to make its way to consoles. This game supports online multiplayer (max of 24 simultaneously), along with full single-player campaign.

The game will feature four major factions, the US, the European Union, China, and the fictitious Middle Eastern Coalition, which originally appeared in this year's similarly-titled PC shooter, Battlefield 2. Modern Combat will make its way to store shelves on October 25 with an ESRB rating of "T" for Teen, and a suggested retail price of $49.99. The Xbox 360 version of the game is scheduled for release later this year.
