It was discovered that Battlefield 2: Deluxe Edition has sprang up on both EBGames.com and GameStop.com. It is uncommon for popular PC games with expansions to be given a "special edition" label.
There's no word on what the package will include (if it indeed exists),
and the two sites have different ship dates for the package, March 27
and May 2. A likely candidate for inclusion would be the Battlefield 2:
Special Forces expansion that was released last November. Both sites
list the Deluxe Edition as selling for $49.99. The original Battlefield
2 is currently selling for $49.99, and the Special Forces expansion has
a $29.99 price tag.
The Battlefield franchise is no stranger to bundles and special
editions--Battlefield 1942 Deluxe Edition included 1942 and the Road to
Rome expansion; the World War II Anthology included 1942 and two
expansion packs; and The Complete Collection contained all the 1942 and
Vietnam expansions.
