Bungie: After ODST, no more Halo 3 support

In an interview about Halo 3's upcoming Mythic map pack with IGN, Bungie employees Lars Bakken, Multiplayer Designer, and Brian Jarrard, Community Director, have revealed that they have no plans to put out any more Halo 3 media (expansions or map packs) after Halo 3 ODST and the Mythic map pack.

Jarrard stated, "we are viewing the ODST campaign and the included multiplayer maps as the final exclamation point in our ongoing efforts to extend the Halo 3 experience. We're really grateful to our fans for standing by Halo 3 for so long and continuing to show us such strong support."

The expansion for Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, will be out later this year and will bring hours of new content to the game, as well as new maps and achievements. It will not be required to own Halo 3 in order to play the expansion.

No more Halo 3 support. I'd be worried if I saw "No more Halo support" - thankfully, that isn't the case.

In my opinion halo 3 is the best xbox 360 multi player game. Even more so when the game first came out i played it online all the time - i couldn't get enough of it! Its weird how they aren't releasing it to pc right now.

I expected them to release Halo 3 a year or so after the console version was released, as per Halo and Halo 2, but now I'm not sure.

I sold my copy of Halo 3 on ebay and I have no plans to purchase any more of Halo. They really is over-hyped. Valve games are much more better

I disagree. This is the best game I've ever played on a console - I've played many hours online and think that XBL is a great setup, and is really enjoyable. You won't get that kinda experience on the PC in one single package.

I love and respect both of the developers. I get an equal share of both worlds as of right now. :)

I still have a un-touched Legendary edition that I saved just for the sake of selling it later.

Then, why is it called an Expansion? Its a totally new game.

Because it's on a console. Expansions are always standalone titles on consoles.

what? Weird. Hopefully Halo 3 users can download it for free as part of the game or something - I know I'll be downloading it for sure.

What?? Wrong. It's going to cost like 40 bucks. Waste of money if you ask me.
