Call of Duty 3 is now backward compatible with the Xbox One

Microsoft only added one new title to the list of Xbox 360 games that are backward compatible with the Xbox One today, but it's a big one. You can now play Call of Duty 3 on Microsoft's latest generation console.

Today's addition is the third game from the Call of Duty franchise to show up on the Backward Compatibility list. Call of Duty 2 was added last month, and Call of Duty: Black Ops was added back in May.

Microsoft also announced next month's Games with Gold yesterday, which will offer Xbox Live Gold members four free games during the month of October. In fact, it's not too late to grab some of this month's Games with Gold. You can grab Earthlock: Festival of Magic (Xbox One) and Mirror's Edge (Xbox 360) until the end of the month, and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China (Xbox One) until October 15.
