The weekend is upon us and many of you will be taking to Xbox LIVE or the PlayStation Network to shoot as many friends as possible on Call of Duty: Black Ops, while some of us in Europe will be getting to grips with Kinect and trying to work out what size house we need to run it decently. In todays news update we have details on Lego Star Wars III, Alien Breed 3 and the long awaited release date for Gran Turismo 5.

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Release Date

It may seem like a long time away, but Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released in early February 2011. This Lego Star Wars title will have players taking the battle into the Clone Wars period in 20 new story based missions.

Alien Breed 3: Descent for Xbox 360 and PC: Screens

We have our hands on a load of screenshots of Team17's upcoming shooter - Alien Breed 3: Descent. The game follows on from the last title called Assault which had the games hero Conrad fighting against many aliens as he made his way through the derelict ship. Alien Breed 3: Descent sees the conclusion of the trilogy as you make your way through flooded corridors and for the first time, outside on the hull.

The game will retail at 800 Microsoft Points or for download via Steam on the PC at £6.99/$9.99. The screenshots can be found in the gallery at the bottom of the page.

Real Racing 2 close to release

Although details are thin on the ground right now, Firemint have informed us that Real Racing 2 is close to release on iPhone and iPad. The very short email stated that more details would be released soon so we will let you all know as soon as we hear anything new.

New Championship Manager 2011 Trailer

A new trailer has been released for soccer/football management title Championship Manager 2011 on the iPhone and the iPod touch. The trailer shows off some of the games new features and updated user interface. The game has been designed specifically for the iPhone and iPod devices and costs £3.99 in Europe.

Gran Turismo 5 Gets its release date down in the U.K. and America

Yes, at long last we have a confirmed Sony press release that states Gran Turismo 5 will be out in stores on November 24 in Europe and America. The game has been in production for many years and some gamers were not expecting it to get released this side of Christmas, but the long wait is nearly over and we now all hope Santa puts it under our trees.

Aion is about to get the public release of update 2.1 on November 17. The Aion 2.1 update brings users increased drop rates and new in-game event schedules.

First Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Patch Released

The first Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer patch has been released on Steam. The update says that it has fixes for the "Join in Progress" function and for the "Friends" tab. The update also contains quite a big performance improvement for Dual and Quad-Core systems.

Champions Online bring back Lifetime Subscriptions

In a strange turn, Cryptic Studios have brought the lifetime subscription options back to Champions Online. The cost is $299 and you get a lot for your money, assuming they don't do a U-turn and make the game free to play in the future like Lord of the Rings Online subscribers endured. The full details are here:

  • No subscription fee. When Champions Online goes Free-to-Play, Lifetime Subscribers will receive all the benefits of Gold Members in perpetuity.
  • Free digital copy of the game: The retail key is included in your Lifetime purchase.
  • Foxbat Action Figure - A miniature version of Foxbat to accompany you in-game.
  • Art Deco/Art Deco Future Costume Sets - Two free costume sets, original to Champions Online's launch.
  • Eight character slots - Create eight different heroes.
  • The VIP room - The VIP room in Club Caprice is restricted to Lifetime Subscribers and longtime Champions veterans. We've never been there so we're not sure what's inside.
  • Exclusive costume piece - Just visit a tailor in-game to add it to your current hero.
  • "Vanguard" Perk and title - Show off that you're committed to Champions Online for the duration.
  • Forum goodies - Change the color of your handle and show off that Vanguard title on the forums, too.
