EVGA and XFX Reimburse Price Difference on GeForce GTX 200

EVGA and XFX, two leading suppliers of Nvidia-based graphics cards, plan to return up to $125 to those, who acquired latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 200-series graphics cards before their prices collapsed. It remains to be seen whether other partners of Nvidia Corp. will also reimburse part of the price difference to their customers.

EVGA will provide $60 and $125 cash back to those who acquired GeForce GTX 260 or 280, respectively, between June 16th and July 7th, provided that the products were bought for full manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) from an authorized reseller. The company may also offer reimbursement in so-called EVGA bucks, the currency used in the company's online store.

I'm shocked... though in the end its to ensure that those same people are still willing to "jump on the bandwaggon" next time. But it's nice to see.

Btw shame on NVIDIA for their deliberate price hiking. Looks like their goal was to push prices back up before ATI/AMD laid the smackdown. The fact they can cut so much off the price just shows how much of a mark-up they had......

EVGA is a great company (even if my old 7600GS made my motherboard stop working), I've always liked their policies.

EVGA is a great company. Back when I had a 7xxx series card that had a known issue, they hooked me up and replaced the card even though the warranty expired. This was right before they started doing the lifetime warranty thing. I called them and I was ****ed, they were really polite, despite the fact that I was ****ed, and giving them a hard time. I would recommend them.

It would be great if XFX made ATI cards also, with their double lifetime warranty. They probably would steal all the sales.

no thanks, they are a pain in the backside with rma, read up on their rma horror stories, they are as bad as paypal

we know it ! they know it !

GTX200 doesnt worth it price tag as an old cards like 9800GX2 and 8800GT SLI which cost less and perform more then GTX200 !
