Apple opens its first retail store in France

Today Apple opened its second store on mainland Europe at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France. They don't stop there, however; another store in Montpellier, France opens next week on November 14th and one near the Opera Ganier to debut in the summer of 2010.

France's first Apple store opens today at 10AM CET. This is a prestigious location to be sure, right across the famous inverted pyramid inside the Louvre museum. Just for that it would be worthwhile to visit this store, which spans two floors. 150 employees work in the store to offer the same services, which have made the Apple Store experience a success all over the world. The first 5000 visitors will receive a limited edition t-shirt.

This year, close to 170 million people visited Apple Stores on four different continents. Apple has already opened 277 stores in 10 countries: France, U.S., UK, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Canada, Japan and China.

Yes, unlike the down to earth "we love your grandma and your children, here, take a cup of coffee" employees on the new MS stores that used Apple as a role model? Those "I'm a PC" ads are sure working.

Apple and The French...

The smug attitude inside those stores must be suffocating!

You Sir have won The Internets... !!!

And you just know, walking into a place where they spend over $3M dollars on the front window (Apple Store Sydney Australia), that you're getting reamed on price...

Problem as I see it with Apple and Apple Stores is that they just may be the greatest thing for customer service since sliced bread... but I'll never know as the likelihood of them ever building one in Australia's 5th largest city, with over 2M people.... (Adelaide) is next to zero. Instead we have to travel over 900km to Melbourne, or 2000km to Sydney to visit an actual genuine apple store... how does that fit into the customer service model of the Genius Bar Appointment to fix my woes...

$ 3M on the front window? Wow... I hope it's impressive at least...

Pray to God the smuggness coming from that store does not meet up with the smug cloud from George Clooney's Academy Award acceptance speech. We are talking ramifications of epic proportions! I am talking Deep Impact, the Day After Tomorrow sized chaos. Oh the horror!!!!

what said,
That employee should take his hands out of his pockets in that last picture. Just sayin'.

Which one of them, both have their hands in their pockets .. douches!

I wonder if they call it "Le magasin Pomme", would be funny :)

I'm french canadian btw so no french bashing :P

They will just probably call it "Boutique Apple Store" like they call in Montreal, though they may just call it "Apple Store" because they are a little less stuck up than FR-CA in QC about English business names being translated into French.

I've checked.

Apple.fr link name to the Store: Store - http://www.apple.com/fr/
Apple.ca/fr link name to the store: Boutique - http://www.apple.com/ca/fr/

Apple.fr title of the retail page: Apple Store - http://www.apple.com/fr/retail/
Apple.ca/fr title of the retail page: La boutique Apple Store - http://www.apple.com/ca/fr/retail/

Like I said, less stuck up.

That's definitely an amazing location. Hopefully Microsoft can pick some more impressive locations in the future for their stores... LOL
