First Samsung Galaxy IV image leaked?

Since launching in late May in Europe and in June in the US, the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone has been a huge sales hit. In November, the company announced it had sold 30 million units, and we are sure that number is much higher thanks to people buying new smartphones over the holidays.

Now that we are into 2013, the rumors have already started about Samsung's plans for the successor to the Galaxy S III. Today, the SamMobile.com website claims to have received an image from an unnamed tipster from Samsung that is reportedly a render of the Galaxy S IV.

Based on the image, the picture appears to be taken from a monitor or display that was showing the render of the Galaxy S IV, perhaps as part of an internal Samsung marketing presentation. The article notes that the render does not have a physical home button on the bottom, as the Galaxy S III does. It also appears to have a thinner case and a larger display than the Galaxy S III.

Is this image the real deal? If it is a slide from a genuine Samsung marketing demo, perhaps it is also outdated and the final version of the Galaxy S IV will be different than the one pictured above. There's no way to say for sure, at least until Samsung makes its plans for its next Galaxy S phone official. We don't expect that to happen until sometime in late spring 2013.

Apple have no stake over this or any other phone in terms of copyright. Every damn phone these days look the same. It's a rectangular object with a rectangular screen, has a variable, size, weight, hardware. Variance is on the inside. But even so Samsung make Apple's hardware so there is no variance there either. Actually, i'm developing a smartphone. I'm thinking it's a pretty revolutionary design even though it took me two seconds to knock it up in paint. http://i.imgur.com/0ICrk.jpg

I don't know why people are saying it looks like an iPhone, looks completely different to me. I would hope it's not another cheap feeling piece of plastic

To be honest it looks exactly like the S3, you would need to be pretty stupid to mistake this from an Iphone 4s/5 If you cannot tell the difference then we must have different eyes.

I hope it's not plastic.

Just got an S3 a couple of weeks ago. Compared it to all other phones when shopping including iPhone and Windows. No contest, it won on every point...I did like the bigger app selection with Apple, but really disliked the Apple ecosystem. Windows phones aren't really mature enough for me at any level and salespeople seem to have zero use for them. The s3 is so light and fast and goes all day and then some on a single charge with fairly heavy use. Don't see upgrading ANY time soon. I suspect the s4 will likely bump the screen to at least 5", pad charging and just small improvements where it can everywhere else. If you haven't toyed with one, you really can't speak about it intelligently.

Looked like a Samsung to me right off the bat. Don't see any resemblance to an iPhone whatsoever. Not that it matters anyways.

That's nice, we never asked for your opinion. You're the minority.

That's nice, we didn't ask for your opinion on his opinion. Just because he is a minority, doesn't mean he cant state what he thinks about this article like anyone else.

yea its possible, why not. But then it would be hard to hold without your hands always touching the screen. where would the earpiece be? where would the sensors and front camera go?

damn,

its f**** ugly just like all the samsung phones.

Really, they cant get a better designer guy (team ??) or what ?

it's funny how 10 people above this said it looks like the iphone 5, and you say it's ugly?

so, the iphone 5 is ugly too?

Today I learned disliking a product means you're on that product's competitor's payroll.

good that you learned something.

If it's solid aluminum all over, then I'm all for it. But I will disappointed if there's some cheap plastic parts in between.

lol. u know the truth, dont try hide it from urself.

IT IS the alsways same cheap plastic from china they useon all their devices

Simple that !

Aluminium is cheap ****. Why do you think drink cans are made of it? It's the cheapest weakest metal, and is often more fragile and weaker than plastic. But if you want a phone that easily scratches, chips and dents then go for it.

Now if it was made out of magnesium like the Surface then that would actually be good.

Same cheap spell checker as well you're using I guess tester.bj, , either that or just ignorant. I find it amusing how you much you hate something but yet are compelled to comment ?

If ignorance is bliss, you must be ecstatic !

They could just use the same design as the GS3 and put on screen controls rather than soft keys like AOSP uses. soft keys are stupid anymore.

OMG OMG, it looks like a Apple product, sue sue sue, pitchfork pitchfork! LOL

BTW, not sure how people are saying it looks like the iPhone5 -- no button on the bottom at all on this vs. the iPhone 5. Even I caught that within 10 seconds.

Looks like it draws a lot of inspiration from the iPhone 5.

No. Looks almost exactly like a Galaxy S3 with a removed button and slightly different corners. Looks like the iPhone 5 copied Android phones with it's 16:9 ratio screen and now iPhone looks like any other Android phone from the front.

alright when I saw the image at first I thought I saw an iPhone, not joking either... then read the title...

That was my first though as well. Definatly looks more like an iPhone then the SIII. But Samsung probably expects to get away with it because judges are getting sick of Apple.

I heard rumors that Apple is parachuting legal teams to major courtrooms world-wide with patent infringement papers in hand. Now *that's* efficiency.

It's like when you first look at the cyan HTC 8X it almost looks like a Nokia Lumia 9xx.. Com'on now! The iPhone 5 looks more like a Samsung Galaxy S3. Iphone always had a screen that was almost square not like the wide screen on Galaxy S3 or this image..

Lawd!!!!!!
