Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter PC goes gold

Gamespot is also reporting that the next installment in the Ghost Recon universe, Advanced Warfighter has gone gold for PC and will be deploying to stores on May 3rd for a price of $49.99 US and is rated T for Teen.

Just to make sure you fellow PC gamers don't fall off the chair that GRAW is just another port, remember that there are very very distinct differences between the PC version and the Xbox 360 version. First off, the game had a completely separate development history, and was built from the ground up for PC with its own graphics engine. You can only use a first person view, which I think is a good choice for PC. The game is also one of the first to utilize the Aegia PhysX processor, though to what extent I do not know. The PC version also contains all new levels just for the PC, and of course much cooler box art!

Whether or not this version of the game impresses, we will have to wait and see. The Xbox 360 version was obviously well received, and got terrific reviews for the most part. The Playstation 2 and Xbox versions did not, and were also different from the Xbox 360 version. Whether these changes on the PC make the game worse, or keep it in line with the 360 version we'll find out soon enough. Get ready to deploy soldiers!
